RAUO - Residents’ Association
of the University of Ottawa

As a resident, you are member of the RAUO. At the beginning of the year, you’ll have the chance to elect building representatives whose mandate is to help improve the quality of life in residence.  How? By organizing social events and floor activities for the residents, such as:

  • the Rez Ball (annual event, in March)
  • Barbecues
  • and many more

A voice for the residents

The RAUO also provide a crucial political representation on the behalf of the residents.  The RAUO representatives are there to voice your concerns, promote your ideas on how your needs should be met in residence. They will support you, should you have a complaint. Feel free to approach them with any issues to discuss options.

Floor Funds

In September, your floor will elect an RAUO Floor Rep; if they go to the RAUO meetings, your floor will be allocated floor funds to pay for events.  If you live in conventional or at 90U, a $12 fee per  semester is collected by Housing for the RAUO. The floor funds are your chance to get some of that back in the form of activities. The fees are $18 at Brooks or Hyman Soloway.

Get involved!

The RAUO is always looking for residents to get involved and to help plan and organize activities within residence.  Please contact the RAUO or your CA to become a floor representative for your residence!
