Become a Rez-Volunteer

Almost 3000 students will be moving in to Rez, coming from all over Ontario and beyond, even from foreign countries. Join the fun for a few hours! We need volunteers for the move-in weekend to help in a few areas.

Positions Available

See the schedule. Many blocks are from August 29 to September 2.

Greeting Attendant
Qualifications: be 18 years old, bilingual, energetic and courteous.  Must know the campus

  • Positioned at a campus entry point, greets incoming residents and their parents
  • Checks the Arrival Cards
  • Gives directions and interacts with incoming drivers

Traffic Attendant
Qualifications: be 18 years old, bilingual, energetic and courteous

  • Directs vehicles to the drop zones
  • Controls traffic in and around the drop zones

Parking Attendant
Qualifications : bilingual, energetic and courteous

  • Gives out temporary parking permits
  • Monitors the parking zone
  • Controls the permits

Drop-Off Zone Attendant

  • Helps with the unloading of vehicles and places baggage on carts
  • Must be able to lift 20 Kg

Fit Volunteers for Brooks!

  • Requires physical effort and endurance
  • Help new students to bring their luggage, boxes and other belongings on the 3rd and 4th floors
  • Go up and down the stairs very often in the Brooks residence
  • You will receive a reward for your well appreciated efforts!

Cart Manager (for uOttawa employees only)

  • Collect and keep watch on the student IDs when students pick up a cart
  • Hand back the correct identity to each student when he/she returns the cart

Cart Attendant

  • Gives out carts to the residents moving in
  • Takes back the carts and keeps them in an orderly manner
  • Performs various tasks, as requested by the Site Manager

Special volunteer (help with multiple tasks)

  • Help the coordinators with multiple tasks
  • Give snacks and beverages to the volunteers on campus
  • Help when needed at different posts
